I feel like in this project, I really improved my active reading abilities. Active reading is something I have always struggled with but I am continuing to learn good strategies for it as this class goes on. When I was reading the three sources for our project, I annotated them using two different strategies. I used color coding to make notes of the different pieces of the text, such as the claims, evidence, structure, and questions. I also used the sticky note method I have been using before, which has been very effective for me. Using both of these strategies combined allowed me to engage deeply with the text, and it made them much easier to come back to when I needed to include source information in my essay.
