Social Media Pre-writing
For my pre-writing activity this time, I chose to just answer the questions provided in our project’s document. It was effective in getting me to analyze all the parts that could be included in my essay. I think the prompted questions were very helpful in allowing me to explore all the different routes I could go with my essay. By answering all of them, I identified what areas were strongest and should be included in the essay. I could also see which questions I did not have strong answers for, which told me that I should not include those parts in my essay. For me, I enjoy writing, especially when it’s my opinion about something. That being said, this way of pre-writing was very helpful for me. I was able to get out all of my ideas at once, then I could go back and review what to put or not put in my actual essay. I think I will look to use this way of pre-writing in the future. When I am given an essay topic, I will merely write everything I have to say about the topic, without worrying about structure or flow. Then, once all my ideas are out, I can look at organizing it better. I can identify which parts of my “free write” are strongest and should be included in my actual essay.
