I found annotating with the “chunking” method to be very useful in categorizing information so you can easily find it again when doing a later assignment. For example, when you write an essay about the topic later, you can easily find where there is evidence for you to reference. It is also an easy way to simplify the structure of the essay. However, I don’t feel like this method is very engaging for the reader. The most engagement you are getting is reading each paragraph and determining what category it would fall under. You aren’t really doing any deeper thinking or connections with the actual content.
