Exploring Spaces

For my assignment, I experimented with doing my textbook reading in two different locations around the campus. The first place I went to was near the dock behind Featherman Hall. There is a trail to the right of the dock where you can relax on the edge of a rocky ledge overlooking the water. I have visited this location several times early in the morning just to watch the water, but I have now decided to try doing some reading up there as well. I went to this location around 7:30 a.m. on September 11, 2019, to try doing my marine biology reading. I enjoyed the peacefulness that came with being in the nature. It was also nice to be in a quiet atmosphere where I could focus on the words on the page, rather than the sounds in the hallway of my dorm building. Overall I had a great experience with this location and this time of day, and I will definitely be going back on days with nice weather.

The next place I went to was the second floor of the Commons. I went to this location around 3 p.m. on September 11, 2019, to read a chapter from my chemistry book. I enjoyed the comfort that was available in the lounge. The quietness, which everybody was respectful of, was very efficient at helping me stay focused. This was a nice location for me to focus on efficiently completing my work, however I prefer being outside. Still, when the weather does not permit me to sit near the ocean, I will most likely be going to the Commons instead of my dorm room to work on my homework.
